My name is Stacy Dymalski and I’m an author, blogger, freelance writer, comedian, talk show host, corporate speaker, filmmaker and busy mom of two teenage sons. Any more than that and I spontaneously combust.
My latest book is Confessions of a Band Geek Mom, a hilarious account of trying to get parenthood and career to coexist without somebody getting hurt. They seem to be polar opposites determined not to meet — sort like the north and south ends of two magnets. Yet we keep trying to bring them together; which is either a tribute to the human spirit or the revelation of human thickheadedness. I haven’t figured out which it is yet, but when I do I’ll let you know.
In addition writing books, I also have some film credits (as a producer, director, screenwriter), however they’re too long and laborious to mention here. But if you’re dying to get to know them up close and personal, feel free to check out my IMDB page.
Also here’s a piece of trivia for you. In 2012 I was a finalist in the Toastmasters Humorous Speech Contest and a semi-finalist in the Toastmasters International Speech Contest, in which I competed for the title of World Champion of Public Speaking. My award-winning speech, “Wynton Marsalis Had My Back” is the flagship chapter and title of my new book of humorous essays coming out in Fall 2013.
And as if I haven’t already taken up enough of your valuable time, please go to the Confessions of a Band Geek Mom Facebook fan page and LIKE it. We have a raucous good time on there yakking about everything from the value of a good wine (or whine) after a hard day, to wet, moldy towels fermenting on the bathroom floor. (Fermenting is a common theme with us.)
Also, please follow me on Twitter because I get tired of talking to myself on the Internet.
But wait! There’s more!
As a stand-up comic, I rely heavily on the approval of others. So if you have a second, please click on the banner below to vote for me as a Top Mommy Blogger on TopMommyBlogger.com. If you feel uncomfortable doing so, because you haven’t read any of my blog posts, then get off your duff and do it. There are enough of my witty posts on this blogsite to waste your time between now and Tuesday (provided it’s Wednesday when you’re reading this), so get a wiggle on. THEN click on the banner to vote for me as a top Mommy Blogger. I don’t win anything except a higher search engine ranking, plus bragging rights to my kids that I’m not as dorky as they think. (Okay, well maybe I am that dorky, but at least I’ll be easier to find on the Web.)
